AMP Research Inc.* is a micro high technology firm, and R&D house.
Work focuses on fundamental physics concepts - as examples - light propagation and quantum optics - to reach into the next generation of Sensors and Sensor Application prototypes across all domains.
The physical limits on light sensor applications guide our work toward successful prototype use. **
At a glance:
-
AMP utilizes miniaturized electronics and customized embedded applications.
-
AMP Research designs and engineers hardware and software, and deploys electro-optical and sensor systems continuing with physics based modeling
-
AMP has worked as Prime Contractors with DOD, NASA, HLS, DOJ, NIJ, FBI, ATF, DEA, DOE and others including Astrium Space Systems GmbH who subcontracted to AMP on a NASA Headquarters Project.
-
AMP led the way in High Energy Lasers for the the Missile Defense Program by analytically solving and publishing in major Journals, the unique solution to the thermal blooming problem encountered when deploying high energy lasers.
This was a low photon count or low light problem. AMP's solution to this problem led algorithmic applications as well, as a days long simulations on an expensive Super Computer were replaced by AMP with a minute of computational time on a PC. AMP's solutions were more exact than the large computer and closely matched experiments and measurements.
-
AMP also analytically solved and published the segmented optics problem in a major Journals, i.e. the geometry problem of tiling a basin (for NASA and US NAVY). This solution which is at the heart of adaptive optics and segmented telescopes is used by NASA and Goddard in telescope design.
Serving as guidance for AMP are quotes from two Nobel prize winners who were our colleagues (two of us) when we were students.
